Ann Arbor IT Zone Wraps up February 2007 Programming With More Business Improvement Programs

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Feb. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The Ann Arbor IT Zone wraps up February programming with SEM, Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione Breakfast Series, Marketing Roundtable, and Career Focus. All events will be held at SPARK Central, 330 East Liberty Street in downtown Ann Arbor.

February 22 -- Search Engine Marketing (SEM): "I have a website ... now what?: An Introduction to Building an Interactive Marketing Strategy." Join host Linda Girard, co-founder of Pure Visibility, and Michael Beaton, manager of strategy at Proxicom, an e-business consultancy, to discover a basic framework for thinking about your Internet marketing activities. Beaton will discuss the impact of the Internet of the four P's of marketing; products, pricing, promotion, and place (distribution). He will also introduce you to concepts such as Internet Operating Models, Interactive Engagement Tactics, Online/Offline Marketing Integration, and Web Metrics. The event is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The cost of this event is $10 for members, $25 for non-members, or $5 for students. February 23 -- Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione Breakfast Series: "How the Copyright Laws Apply to your Business Model." Join attorneys from Chicago- based Brinks Hofer Gilson and Lione, a firm specializing in intellectual property law, for breakfast and to discuss the intellectual property protections of patent, trademark and copyright law in every-day business situations. The event will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and is free for everyone. February 27 -- Career Focus: "Leaders Make Change Work in Rapidly Changing Times!" This session features a 30-minute video instruction from Dr. Terry Paulson, psychologist and author of "Paulson on Change," "They Shoot Managers Don't They?" and "50 Tips for Speaking Like a Pro." Following the video, Mark Howington, owner of M.W.H. Communications will facilitate practical and role-play exercises and group discussion. Howington will be joined by Dave Milne and Kendra Kerr of The Entrepreneur's Source. This session will teach you the importance of taking action in the change process, the value of errors, the "power of story," and how to take more of the blame and less of the credit. It runs from 8:30 to 10 a.m., and costs $15 for IT Zone members, $25 for non-members or $5 for students. February 27 -- Marketing Roundtable. Join Scott Hauman, director of planning at Q Ltd., Archie Sader, director of integrated marketing with the Eastern Michigan University College of Business, and others for "Brand Aid: the Power of Integrated Marketing." This roundtable session will give you a simple, focused overview of the meaning, history, future, and necessity of integrated marketing communication for your business. Networking and registration begin at 5 p.m., and the panel discussion is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The event is free for IT Zone members, $25 for non- members, or $5 for students.
